The other benefit of the shield is that its currently the most powerful android device available (& not by just a bit) & i can personally vouch that everything not just work but work awesome & is faster than a multicore windows machine on kodi atleast.ĭont know much about the nexus player but the other box i would recommended is the WETEK CORE which uses the S812 soc & one of the few that will play netflix HD & stream 4k as well. google tv app is great but very limited in apps relatively to the normal android app store (although everything could be sided loaded easily enough & alot of BT/usb wireless kb/mouse works with the shield atleast) ive the shield & though relatively big dollars compared to the cheap chinese boxes, ive no regrets cos google tv is so easy & a pleasure to navigate with either the controller or remote. The shield and nexus have the google tv app store with apps built from the ground up to work with a remote including an hd netflix app. The best box is an invidia shield, (if money is no object), or for ultimate value a nexus player for $80 if you can find one.
